Orchestras Central in collaboration with the Conservatorium of Music, University of Waikato with Dr Michael Williams, Dr Lucien Johnson and Rupert D'Cruze.
Orchestras Central is once again excited to invite tertiary and school-age students to submit compositions for the workshop and performance opportunity as part of our 'Central Celebrates' mini-festival. Up to six compositions will be selected to be rehearsed and performed by Orchestras Central’s OCT Ensemble, conducted by Rupert D’Cruze. Works by the selected composers will also receive feedback from Rupert D'Cruze, Dr Michael Williams and Dr Lucien Johnson.
Two winning compositions will be announced on the day - one tertiary and one school level.

Open to school-age and tertiary students

"Music that evokes people or place"
Instrumentation
The submitted composition is to be between 3-6 mins and for any combination of three or more instruments from the following list:
Flute
Oboe
Clarinet
Horn
Bassoon
Violin 1 (single player)
Violin 2 (single player)
Viola (single player)
Cello (single player)
Piano
Please note if you include any instrument that is not on the above list your composition will not be considered.
