Central Ensemble explores diverse methods of music creation - blending art forms, pushing boundaries, and providing unique musical experiences that captivate audiences and strengthen our connections across the broader community.

Performances and collaborations have included:

• Of People & Places – a unique experimental chamber music show combining spoken word and projected imagery to bring to life the people and places that inspired the music

• He Pu, He Puoro, He Purakau – a seed, an instrument, a story, combining the world of taonga puoro with the traditions of the orchestra, featuring Horomona Horo and Jeremy Mayall

• Continued collaboration with the University of Waikato, performing new works by emerging composers
