Orchestras Central is delighted to present its 2024 Advanced Conductor Training Workshop with the professional OCT Ensemble under the direction of Principal Conductor Rupert D’Cruze. The aim of the workshop is to provide the next generation of kiwi conductors with valuable knowledge and practical experience to refine their technique and develop their skill in rehearsal and performance.     

OCT is inviting musicians with significant conducting experience to apply as active participants, and anyone else interested in observing. 

Through tutorials and active sessions, this full day workshop will focus on:

• How conductors can prepare before the first rehearsal

• How to make the best use of rehearsal time and resources

• Setting goals for the rehearsal process

• Exploring some of the differences between rehearsal and performance

Repertoire is the Stravinsky Octet (revised 1952 version).
